WEEK 8 July 26-August 1

DAY 50: ROMANS 1-4
In the opening verses of Romans, what words show that Jesus is true God? True man?
In Romans 1-2, God points to many ways people sin against him. Can you think of specific examples today of these sins?
Look for “big” words today, like: sin, grace, faith, justified.

DAY 51: ROMANS 5-8
Keep looking for those “big” words, like: sin, grace, faith, justified.
Romans 8 is packed with good news from God. Pile up a list of good promises God makes to you.

DAY 52: ROMANS 9-12
In Romans 9-11, keep your eyes open to Israel - Physical Israel: physical descendants of Abraham through Jacob; and Spiritual Israel: ALL who believe and have faith in God, just like Abraham.

DAY 53: ROMANS 13-16
Today’s reading continues the list of commands from God that started in Romans 12. “In view of God’s mercy (12:1),” how will you “not live according to the pattern of this world?” What specific things will you do to live your whole life “as a spiritual act of worship” to God?

DAY 54: I CORINTHIANS 1-4
Paul pours his heart out to the Corinthian congregation. Which of their attitudes and actions pain Paul because they are wrong and totally out of place for Christians?
How does Paul express his love and God’s love for them?

DAY 55: I CORINTHIANS 5-8
In today’s section and in Monday’s reading, Paul lists some things God commands you to always do or to never do. What guides and motivates you in things God says you may choose to do or choose not to do?
What goals did Paul have when it came to these matters (9:22-27)?
